ProVantage® Offers Document Production Enhancements

ProVantage 7.0 improves billing document assembly and print cycle times

Kirkland, WA September 30, 2004 - ProVantage Software, Inc. developer of high-end financial management and business inteligence software, is pleased to announce several new enhancements designed to reduce cycle times during production of draft bills, bills, statements, and collection letters as well as provide distributed printing.

Within ProVantage 7.0, several no-charge enhancements have been made to the document assembly engine so that it now produces billing documents two to three times faster and supports distributed printing from one dedicated print server. Distributed printing is accomplished by using a new ProVantage print server maintenance feature that allows: printers visible to the network to be set up for access by ProVantage; and any of these printers to be selected by users at run-time for printing billing documents.

ProVantage Distributed Document Assembly (DDA) is an add-on printer server software solution that distributes document assembly beyond one dedicated print server and offers both load-balancing and fail-over capabilities. DDA enables multiple print servers to be set up on a firm's network to assemble draft bills, bills, statements, and collection letters at multiple locations throughout the firm. ProVantage also recognizes when a print server running DDA fails, and it reroutes the jobs sent to the failed print server back to the main server that hosts ProVantage. Once the documents are assembled at the main server, ProVantage routes them back to the failed print server's associated printers for output. DDA removes the typical printing "bottleneck" associated with monthly billing as well as streamlines the routing process so bills can be assembled and printed at the location from which they will be mailed.

ProVantage clients have the ability to assemble and print documents through the main ProVantage print server. By purchasing a DDA license for each additional print server, firms have more flexibility for optimal document routing and production.
